A private network is basically a network of properties specifically for use by a person or business. I think you could use a law firm as an example. There are 5 offices and each office has a computer connected via the corporate network. The sole purpose of this network is used for finding clients, cases, and to perform other tasks related to the work. Now more specifically, this network will most likely be a VPN or virtual private network. What makes this a virtual network? It is a VPN, because lawyers who work at home or during the break on a portable computer that can access the private network through a separate Internet connection.
The advantages of using a VPN to business needs is that encrypts all incoming and outgoing data in a way that is not easily retrieved by someone who should not have access to information. E 'was discovered, usually long after the incident occurred that someone has hacked into a network and was able to recover all of the outgoing and incoming data. These data can, and usually contain personal information and extremely confidential. So it is wise to take the extra step in information security.
A with the use of a private network is that access levels are to be granted to certain persons. If a problem occurs, that sometimes they do, you will most likely not be able to contact the secretariat to disclose the necessary information because they are warned ahead of time not to do so, especially if it is a highly secure network. Another with the use of a privatized network is the width of allowable bandwidth that is always regulated and may not be able to do much during non-business hours. In addition, all traffic is generally adjusted, the bandwidth limits are set, and can get extremely expensive during maintenance compared to using a public network.
An example of a public network could be AT & T. Practically, this could be considered more of a wide area network of a "grid." There is central server then there are the location server. Public networks are used in more demanding areas of communication, electric networks, etc. This eliminates the need to have numerous private networks connected to another private network. When using your phone, your network is actually in public, even if you get charged by a carrier not specified. A professional to use public networks is serving for many need more than just a private network. While a private network can be assigned to a single building, a public network is assigned to a range of functions and uses. The disadvantages of using a public network is that they are prone to natural disasters, human error, the bandwidth allowed, and many other things.
